About this event
Buddhist and Taoist practices to help us approach The Great Mystery with an open heart and mind!
Saturday November 2
9:30 am - 4 pm
Led by Devin Wallace
We live in a culture that dreads and demonizes death. As a result, we carry at least some of that negative conditioning, both consciously and unconsciously. Fortunately these older traditions (as well as the celebratory Aztec/Mexican Dia de los Muertes) can guide us in casting off that conditioning piece by piece.
This retreat is a chance to spend a day with a supportive group doing just that -- utilizing meditation practices, ceremony, writing exercises and music to tear down that mentally fabricated wall between life and death.
All interested practitioners are welcome and no prior experience is necessary.
This retreat will be held in person at the White Heron Sangha Meditation Center.
Participants can bring their lunch and use the refrigerator and microwave. Tea and snacks will be available.
Registration for this retreat is required and space is limited. There is no fee and dāna will be accepted.
Devin Wallace began studying Buddhism in the early 1970's at the Eugene (Oregon) Zen Priory and has been involved with numerous centers and sanghas ever since. He co-founded meditation groups in Oregon and California. He is a clinical & medical hypnotherapist, certified in End-of-Life Hypnosis, and has a professional background in Expressive Arts Therapy.
