The Retreat: Our usual approach to dealing with painful emotions, such as anger, longing, or bewilderment, is to try to get rid of them or least to just calmly wait them out without responding. The Buddhist Tantras offer a different path -- purifying such emotions of their service to the ego and thereby releasing the pure enlightened energy that lies at their core. In this retreat, we will learn a powerful visualization practice that will allow us to recognize the five fundamental emotions that make us suffer and to actualize the five different kinds of wisdom that lie hidden at their core. Everyone is welcome, but some experience with Tara or some other visualization practice is helpful.
